I specialize in child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapy for individuals and families. In addition, I provide couples counseling or mediation. I received my MSW in Clinical Social Work from Temple University in 1998 and my undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware in 1995. I was certified as a Transformative Mediator in 2006.
My psychotherapy clients range in ages from 5 and older. I use a family-oriented approach when working with children. So at times it is valuable to work with the caregiver(s) of the child to address parenting or family concerns. This is especially important during the assessment phase.
I have vast experience helping my clients cope with life challenges. I work with individuals struggling with their mood or anxiety as well as phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders, ADHD and school conflicts and challenges.
In addition to working in the mental health field as a clinician for 15 years in an outpatient setting, I worked as a Multisystemic Therapist in Montgomery County for the 4 years. I conducted in-home, evidence-based behavioral therapy with children ages 12-18 and their families in a family therapy setting. I interfaced with outside agencies such as school counselors, social workers, psychologists and administrators in public, alternative, and private school settings throughout Montgomery County. I have also worked in a hospital settings; both partial hospital programs and residential treatment facilities with children and adolescents for many years.
I have been a Transformative Mediator since 2006. I empower my clients to cope with difficult situations through the energy and power of conversation. As a professional mediator, I can work with clients that are facing divorce, custody, child support, alimony/spousal support issues, employer/employee disputes and educational conflicts.
